Information

Ecological parameter:  life cycle duration according to Tachet

Parameter group: life & body related parameters

Explanation:
The life cycle of macroinvertebrates varies from a few weeks (e.g. Diptera Simuliidae) to several decades (e.g. Bivalvia from the genus Margaritifera). However, except for insects, this information is often partial and scattered. Therefore only two categories are defined.

Additional information:
Note that several classifications of the Tachet database are on higher taxonomic level than on species level. To display them in the list please enable "include higher taxonomic units" in the "advanced search".
