Information

Ecological parameter:  pH (preferendum) according to Tachet

Parameter group: habitat related parameters

Explanation:
This trait provides information on the tolerance of invertebrates to low pH values, describing their sensitivity to natural or anthropogenic stream acidification (e.g. the consequence of acid rain due to dissolved acidic gases - sulfur dioxic, nitrogen oxide - in rainwaters). Six categories are defined.
